Conspiracy Clutter

We live in a world that rewards complaining and conflict. Everything is cluttered with and alleged as conspiracy. Yet, often circumstances are more complex and nuanced than what multiple sides care to admit.

The problem is, when the only thing that can be trusted is… conspiracy theories, perhaps we should take a breath and admit we simply don’t know everything. Creating a world where you’re always correct and others are always offensive and wicked will leave you on a secluded and lonely island. Further, you’ll miss the world to come.

Christians believe the kingdom of God is at hand. An unshakeable city with firm foundations is on the horizon. Jesus, the way, the truth, and the life will return. And upon His arrival, every conspiracy will be separated with the sword of truth.

Therefore, let us seek to be clothed with humility, compassion, meekness, patience, forgiveness; just as the Lord Jesus has been toward us. Christ’s peace rules in our hearts when God’s word is in our hands and permeating our life. We must drink deeply from the well of fresh water, rather than broken cisterns of conspiracy.

Ironically, this post didn’t start with politics in mind. However, it seems only fitting to conclude with a brief challenge on a specific area of life where conspiracies have a controlling narrative. Undoubtedly, everyone has their preferred candidate and their deplored option. It seems our candidate options are the society seeds that have been sown in prior generations. So, here we are.

Pray. Vote. Pray. And then love our neighbors as Christ loved us. The conspiracy of unmerited grace is one scandal for which I’m grateful.
