A Manger To A Miracle

Salt & Gold Collection

“And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.” Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬ ‭

Mary and Joseph did what they could to welcome the arrival of Jesus. Expectations were high but circumstances weren’t ideal. Joseph led his pregnant wife to a crowded guest house with only a feeding trough to place their newborn. They wrapped him in swaddling cloths that were likely used to prepare sacrificial lambs. But in this disordered darkness there was welcomed the light of the world.

Lord, I often feel like Joseph probably did: uncertain, easily discouraged, and yearning for more. Yet, we see that he makes the most of the moment. When we invite God into our imperfect lives, He transforms mangers into miracles. Help me to entrust my plans into your hands.
