5 day challenge to Christians: Pray instead of post about current issues. I’m not saying you can’t have opinions. Not saying you can’t have dialogue with others. I’d encourage it actually. Not saying stop posting in full.

My point is observing many brothers and sisters talking AT and PAST important issues at hand, rather than FOR the issues and WITH persons. We (myself included) need to listen before speaking, and especially to those with different views and skin colors than you. I think there’s lessons to be learned by listening. Listening is a means in showing love for neighbors. Listening includes asking questions, researching multiple perspectives, and forming beliefs based on truth (not speculation, conspiracies, or incitement) and core values. Listening is not passive but active – pursuing lament, justice, reconciliation, and peace. Further, prayer is being way underestimated and under-used as a defense and offense during this season.

Then, after this, speak well and act wisely. Let’s rise up church. A divided world needs a united church being salt and light.

Why 5 days? If 7 symbolizes perfection, I’m doubly short of perfection. Further, I know too many that couldn’t handle 14 days 😂. Gotta start somewhere. Just a thought.
