Our church just finished a study in the book of James, and a new year is just around the corner. It is good to reflect on some resolutions with the help of brother James.

- Resolved, To identify and relate as a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ (James 1:1).
- Resolved, To pray often for God’s wisdom to speak with a single mind (James 1:5-8).
- Resolved, To do less self promotion and more exaltation of grace in Christ (James 1:9-10).
- Resolved, To exercise perseverance and hope in trials, knowing suffering has an expiration date and God is working all things for good (James 1:12).
- Resolved, To not blame God for my selfish desires and foolish decisions (James 1:13).
- Resolved, To be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger (James 1:19).
- Resolved, To put actions to my words and obedience to my faith (James 1:22; 2:14-26).
- Resolved, To view and treat others without prejudice; loving my neighbor (James 2:1-8).
- Resolved, To speak in awareness of the day of judgment before holy God (James 2:12; 3:8-10).
- Resolved, To avoid trite clichés without meaningful compassion (James 2:16).
- Resolved, To teach and communicate God’s truth with humility and fervency (James 3:1).
- Resolved, To resist jealousy and unnecessary conflict (James 3:13-4:2).
- Resolved, To not speak evil of another (James 4:11).
- Resolved, To not presume tomorrow is promised or procrastinate God’s present call in my life (James 4:13-17).
- Resolved, To grow in the art of gratitude and greatly reduce grumbling (James 5:9).
- Resolved, To speak with integrity and not lightly attach God’s name to my decisions (James 5:12).
- Resolved, To pray about my burdens, and ask others to pray for me (James 5:13)
- Resolved, To pray for others in their problems, and initiate help as God provides. (James 5:13-15)
- Resolved, To praise God for blessings and not forget His faithfulness/hesed (James 5:13).
- Resolved, To freely confess my weaknesses, failures, and need for grace from God and others (James 5:15).
- Resolved, To focus daily on the truth of God’s word, so I may not wander in worldliness or drift into disobedience (James 5:19).
- Resolved, To fervently pursue reconciliation, especially bringing others to Christ (James 5:19-20).
- Resolved, To practice forgiving grace toward others, for God’s love covers a multitude of sins (James 5:20).
