Earnest Hope

“And being in agony he prayed more earnestly” Luke‬ ‭22‬:‭44‬ ‭

The compounding of problems, greater agony, and deeper the sorrows brought clearer purpose for Jesus. He acted with intention and intensity. He prayed earnestly. He loved fully by washing feet and surrendering to a betrayer and senseless mob. He persevered and endured a cross, when He had the power to call legions of angels to overthrow his accusers. Jesus stayed so we would be saved. Death brought clarity, courage, and confidence for Christ and eventually his followers. For Christians, to die is gain and to live is Christ – the hope of the world.

Let hope live and breathe through me today.
