Theology of Worship pt.1

A Biblical Theology of Worship

Someone has said that worship is “to attribute worth to an object.” This definition is helpful but incomplete because it explains nothing about who or what that object is much less how to go about attributing worth to that object.  Many people do not fully understand how to approach biblical worship. Some have offered definitions of worship, such as the one above, to help in this matter, but ultimately many are lacking in depth to be of significant help. Therefore, it is best to examine the Bible as a whole to better understand the concept and theology of worship. This can be accomplished through asking a series of questions that direct one’s thought process. The aim of this essay is to remain simple yet give a comprehensive view of how the Bible presents the concept of worship. By employing six journalist questions one can develop a framework for understanding a biblical theology of worship.
