Today, we pray for shalom, peace from head to toe. Amid divisions, we are grateful to live in a nation with peaceful transitions of power. We pray for our leaders to have the humility to serve the entire nation, the wisdom to build structures and systems for righteousness, justice, life, and most of all, to have the reverence of our Creator, Almighty God, in whose image we are made.
Amid divisions in our communities, we believe the church of Jesus Christ can be part of the solution. But we pause to reflect, to repent how we have fallen short or strayed; and we ask for grace to return to becoming “one body and [in] one Spirit [with] one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
O Lord, your reign is for all generations through all geography. Your kingdom is for all peoples, of every tribe and tongue. We praise your matchless greatness and amazing grace. And we ask for a glimpse of your glory that we would not settle for our hearts for anything less.

In turn, we believe a right focus on you Lord, will enable us to advance your kingdom above all others, including our own. Help us to serve freely, as we have received so generously from our Lord and Savior. Help us to look and extend love for the vulnerable, the weak, the outcast. Help us to be salt and light, and a city on a hill, that others may see good and give glory to God the Father in heaven.
“To the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.”
