Questions > Accusations

Whether it’s social media, or real life communication (imagine that!), it will serve you well to ask more questions than make accusations. Listen. Learn. When you state what you believe to be someone’s view, make sure you express it in a way that they would agree. That creates respect and furthers the communication, and the relationship.

So, who benefits from accusations? Labels and stereotypes are good for establishing tribes but not flourishing humanity. When you express views with slant, edge, or bias, it stirs up strife and division. Short-term, maybe you benefit, but long-term everyone loses something. Everyone.

And for the record, I’ve lost a lot over a lifetime. I’m still growing, and thankfully God is still working on me. Do you feel the same? Grace is a wonderful gift.

So, what’s your question?

  • “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9)
  • “Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4:9)
  • “Who is my neighbor?” (Luke 10:29)
  • “What are you seeking?” (John 1:38)
  • “What do you want me to do for you?” (Mark 10:51)
  • “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)
  • “Who do you say Jesus is?” (Matthew 16:15)
  • “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?” (Luke 24:38)
  • “Can faith without works save?” (James 2:15)
