Unexpected Blessings

Day one of our trip away has come with some unexpected gifts. The check engine light came on in our van. Based on some other symptoms, it wasn’t just a false alarm. As you know, when a warning light flashes across your dashboard, you have the choice to take immediate care or have worse issues later. Thankfully we were able to make it to a safe spot off the highway.

A couple hours delayed and a long story short, our van was towed and our parents were very generous in allowing us to use their van, thus saving our trip. We arrived this evening at the first destination with a delicious meal with dear friends.

Our day and trip did not start off the way we expected or desired. But it could have been much worse. We are thankful for family, for friends, and all the blessings and lessons God provides.

“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!” Psalm‬ ‭118:1‬ ‭
