Today was a typical travel day, which after yesterday we were thankful for typical. After morning breakfast send off with friends we drove the rest of the trip to our destination. Rain was frequent on the drive, but we still made good time.
The road trip included lots of music, conversations, car games, some napped, and others not so much. My favorite quote came from Dre:
Dre: What’s a silver alert?
A: It’s when an older person is missing.
Dre: Your shoulder is missing?
A: No, a silver alert is when a person who is older is missing and needs to be found.
Dre: Ok, good. I thought you said your shoulder was missing and I was worried for you.
It’s good to be at the place where we are staying the rest of the week. We spend some time at the store getting a grocery pickup and an additional few items. Walmart was a wee bit crowded, but my shopping companions helped keep circumstances in perspective.
Besides time with precious friends and memories, I treasure a few extra moments of spending time with the Lord. “Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.” Psalm 86:11
Time to unpack and settle in as we enter a busy but incredibly fun filled week.
